On the surface, the story appears simple: A poor family moves into a large mansion and struggles to make ends meet. The father enters into a loan scheme with a local businessman and starts receiving royalties for all of his toys that he sells. As his net worth increases, their standard of living improves and they get closer to middle-class status. But when the father decides to cut ties with the businessman, he soon finds himself in a spiral of debt. The film is about an impoverished family who move into an old abandoned mansion in Delhi. They do not have enough money to rent it, but the owner lets them in upon request. He says that they can stay if they clean up after themselves, since he doesn't have money to pay anyone to do it. The family consists of the father, his wife, their three sons and one daughter. They do not have any source of income, and their principal of survival is to sell their toys on the streets. The father's business of selling toys has made him a millionaire. He decides to buy a new house with his money and sells the old one for amnesties, which is illegal in India. Once the family moves into their new mansion, they find that they don't have enough money to keep up with its maintenance. A local moneylender offers to help them out by loaning them a huge amount of money at a very high rate of interest. But when this loan is not repaid, he demands it back at double that amount plus interest. The loan company then sends a group of men to threaten the family. When the father refuses to pay, two of his sons are beaten up and the others are chased out of their new house by men with guns. The family is desperate for money and all of their husband's earnings are now gone. They come up with an idea to sell plastic models they have made on the streets. The local moneylender hears about this opportunity and offers them another loan, this time at a ridiculously low rate of interest. The lack of funds makes it impossible for them to stay in their new house. The family is forced to return to their old dilapidated one. The father has decided that the only way to save his family is by selling all of his toys. He goes to meet the same loan company he met before, but this time they cancel the deal because he is too poor. But when he tells them about his plan to sell all of his toys on the streets, they arrange a meeting with a new loan company for him. This loan company knows of an upcoming fair being held in a nearby town. They ask him if he will sell all of his toys there and they will buy them from him at a huge discount rate. cfa1e77820
